The end of the road for the EdTech Garage
Hello EdTech innovators and partners!
We set out in 2022 with the ambition to be “a gateway to the European EdTech ecosystem by providing exchanges between early-stage founders and regional & local associations to ensure that partners can maximise their resources and startups can scale faster”.
✨ In just 2 years, here’s what we’ve achieved together:
Onboarded 200+ startup founders from 30+ countries across all segments of EdTech
Ran 40+ virtual Huddles & 15+ in-person Meetups for more than 1000 startup founders & ecosystem participants in London, Paris, Oslo, Madrid
Produced 30+ EdTech Founders podcast episodes sharing founder insights and startup success stories with 1K followers and generated 10K plays
Gathered 1.5K followers on LinkedIn with 50K impressions from posts, 600 followers on Meetup and 500 subscribers on Substack
Created strong partnerships with the EdTech ecosystem including incubators, accelerators, VCs, business angels and local/regional support associations
We’ve also created a dynamic sandbox where EdTech tools come to life - experimenting with virtual workshops, online matchmaking, and more to build engagement and meaningful value for the community. But the real magic? The friendships and connections we’ve built across Europe! Check out some highlights from our meetups below ⬇️
🎧 Shoutout to our podcast guests
A big thank you to the 30+ founders, business angels, and EdTech storytellers who’ve joined the EdTech Founders podcast. Each conversation has been a masterclass in innovation that I have sincerely enjoyed recording! Here are our top 5 episodes - you don’t want to miss them:
95% of e-learning becomes skip factories - Matteo Penzo (zick learn)
VR education has crossed the chasm - Christophe Mallet (Bodyswaps)
Gamification is failing as a mechanism for long-term learning - Eduardo Nunes (Kendir Studios)
🚀 The journey continues
The EdTech ecosystem has evolved with more resources and support for early-stage startups now. Our mission is complete, so we’re closing the EdTech Garage—but this is just the end of the beginning!
Special thanks to Brighteye Ventures for the partnership on this project. As a parting gift, we’re inviting you to the most complete learning resource for startups in EdTech from Brighteye called Sidekick, launching soon. Make sure to sign up to their newsletter here to get access first.
In addition, we recommend checking out the extensive ecosystem resources on the EdTech Hub. And finally, if you are not already connected to your national EdTech industry association, you can find them all in the European EdTech Alliance members section.
As for what’s next… I’m diving headfirst into the exciting world of generative AI + corporate learning as a freelance consultant. I’ll be working with companies to solve questions such as; How should organisations build their skills strategy for the future of work? Where to start when creating AI learning programs? How should L&D adapt to this transformation? Follow me on LinkedIn to know more and send me a message if you are working in this field 👋
To the incredible team - Yasser, Kevin, Patrycia and Alvaro—you’ve been the great supporters on this journey. Thank you for your dedication and energy!
And to you, our amazing community, thank you for being part of this adventure. Let’s keep building, learning, and innovating together 💫
Warm regards,
Frank Albert & Hege
